Field Trip 1 – Big Cypress Bayou, Upstream of Jefferson
A group met at the Jeffersonian Institute for brief presentations on the construction of the gravel bar in Big Cypress and a proposal by the Texas Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office for a paddlefish restoration project. The group then proceeded to Bob Sanders’ property just south west of Jefferson on FM 2208 to visit the site of the gravel bar and a research site for USGS field work.
Field Trip 2 - Louisiana Side of Caddo Lake
A group met at the Earl G. Williams Parish Park on LA Hwy 1 just south of Oil City, Louisiana for a short briefing on the Caddo Lake dam before driving to see it. After the visit to the dam, there were several options for further explorations individually.
